Overview

Lactobacillus rhamnosus LR607 + neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy is an investigational combination regimen being evaluated by Zhujiang Hospital for the treatment of resectable stage IIB-IIIB non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The regimen consists of the oral probiotic strain LR607, which is selected for high expression of DL-peptidase, administered alongside standard-of-care neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy. The probiotic component is intended to modulate the gut microbiota and metabolic profiles, potentially enhancing the major pathological response (MPR) and overall efficacy of the chemoimmunotherapeutic agents. This approach leverages the gut-lung axis to improve clinical outcomes in lung cancer patients by optimizing the microbiome's influence on systemic immune responses.
