Overview

A combination drug consisting of lactoferrin and ferrous fumarate used primarily for the treatment of iron deficiency anemia, especially during pregnancy. Lactoferrin is an iron-binding glycoprotein that enhances iron absorption and has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. Ferrous fumarate provides the iron source. This combination has been shown to be more effective than either component alone in improving hemoglobin levels, serum iron, and other blood parameters while causing fewer gastrointestinal side effects than traditional iron supplements.
