Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LAE102 + LAE103 is a combination biologic therapy being developed by Laekna Limited for the treatment of obesity and muscle-related diseases. LAE102 is a monoclonal antibody selective for the activin receptor type-2A (ActRIIA), while LAE103 is a monoclonal antibody selective for the activin receptor type-2B (ActRIIB). By blocking the Activin-ActRII pathway, the combination aims to synergistically promote muscle mass increase and fat loss, potentially offering a superior profile to monotherapies by mimicking the dual-specific inhibition of ActRIIA/B. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to assess safety, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics in overweight or obese individuals and postmenopausal women.
