Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of lanreotide, a somatostatin analog, and metformin, an antidiabetic medication. This combination has shown promising antitumor activity in both diabetic and non-diabetic patients with well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumors (WDNETs) of the gastrointestinal or thoracic tract. The MetNET-2 trial demonstrated that this combination is safe and well-tolerated with a median progression-free survival of 24 months.
