Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Lansoprazole + amoxicillin + clarithromycin** is an oral fixed-dose, co-packaged *Helicobacter pylori* eradication regimen historically marketed as **Prevpac**. It combines lansoprazole, a proton-pump inhibitor that suppresses gastric acid secretion through irreversible inhibition of the gastric hydrogen-potassium ATPase; amoxicillin, a beta-lactam antibacterial that inhibits bacterial cell-wall synthesis through penicillin-binding proteins; and clarithromycin, a macrolide antibacterial that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding bacterial 23S ribosomal RNA in the 50S ribosomal subunit. The U.S. product is supplied as a daily administration card containing lansoprazole delayed-release capsules, amoxicillin capsules, and clarithromycin tablets for oral use in patients with *H. pylori* infection and duodenal ulcer disease to eradicate *H. pylori* and reduce ulcer recurrence.
