lansoprazole + AZD4635

Lansoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used to decrease gastric acid production. It is indicated for the treatment and prevention of gastric and duodenal ulcers, erosive esophagitis, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and in combination with antibiotics for Helicobacter pylori eradication. Lansoprazole acts by irreversibly inhibiting the H+,K+-ATPase enzyme (proton pump) on gastric parietal cells, thereby reducing stomach acid secretion[1][2][3][5]. AZD4635 is a novel small molecule antagonist of the adenosine A2A receptor. By blocking this receptor, AZD4635 inhibits adenosine-mediated immunosuppression in the tumor microenvironment, enhancing T cell function and antigen presentation by dendritic cells. This mechanism supports antitumor immunity and provides rationale for its use alone or in combination with immune checkpoint inhibitors such as anti-PD-L1 antibodies. AZD4635 is being developed primarily for solid tumors[6]. The combination "lansoprazole + AZD4635" refers to co-administration of these two agents; clinical studies have evaluated their pharmacokinetics when given together but there are no approved indications specifically for this fixed combination[4].
