Overview
Peptikit is a combination therapy marketed by Geneith Pharmaceuticals for the eradication of *Helicobacter pylori* and the treatment of associated gastrointestinal disorders, including gastric ulcers, duodenal ulcers, and gastritis. The product is presented as a combination pack containing three active ingredients: lansoprazole, clarithromycin, and tinidazole. Lansoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that reduces gastric acid secretion by covalently binding to the H+/K+-ATPase enzyme. Clarithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 23S ribosomal RNA of the 50S subunit. Tinidazole is a nitroimidazole antibiotic that, upon reductive activation, causes DNA strand breakage and cell death in anaerobic bacteria. This triple-therapy approach provides synergistic efficacy in eliminating *H. pylori* infection while promoting the healing of the gastric and duodenal mucosa.
