Lapatinib + nab-paclitaxel is a combination therapy used primarily in the treatment of HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer. Lapatinib is an oral, reversible inhibitor of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) tyrosine kinases, which blocks signaling pathways involved in tumor cell proliferation and survival. Nab-paclitaxel is a formulation of the chemotherapy drug paclitaxel bound to albumin nanoparticles, enhancing its delivery to tumors and reducing solvent-related toxicity. Nab-paclitaxel disrupts microtubule function, inhibiting cell division and promoting apoptosis in cancer cells. This combination has been studied for efficacy and safety in patients with HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer who have received prior chemotherapy[1][3].
