Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LASSARAB + aPHAD-SE is an investigational, adjuvanted, inactivated recombinant viral vector vaccine designed to prevent Lassa fever and rabies. Developed at Thomas Jefferson University, the vaccine utilizes a genetically modified and attenuated rabies virus vector (BNSP strain, derived from SAD B19) engineered to express both the Lassa virus glycoprotein complex (GPC) and the rabies virus glycoprotein. It is formulated with aPHAD-SE, a synthetic TLR-4-activating adjuvant consisting of a monophosphoryl lipid A (MPLA) analog (3D-(6-acyl)-PHAD) in a stabilized squalene oil-in-water nanoemulsion. The vaccine aims to elicit dual humoral immunity against both pathogens. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials (NCT06546709) for safety and immunogenicity in healthy adults.
