Latanoprost + pilocarpine is a fixed-dose combination of two ophthalmic agents used to lower intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with glaucoma or ocular hypertension. Latanoprost is a prostaglandin F2-alpha analog that acts primarily by increasing the outflow of aqueous humor through the uveoscleral pathway, thereby reducing IOP[6][8]. Pilocarpine is a muscarinic acetylcholine receptor agonist that contracts the ciliary muscle and increases trabecular meshwork outflow, also lowering IOP[4][5]. The combination may provide additive or synergistic effects for IOP reduction. Both drugs are well-established treatments for glaucoma and ocular hypertension; their combined use can be optimized by adjusting administration timing to maximize efficacy[2].
