Overview

This is a combination ophthalmic product containing three components: - **Latanoprost** (a prostaglandin F2α analogue) increases uveoscleral outflow of aqueous humor, thereby lowering intraocular pressure (IOP). - **Timolol maleate** (a non-selective beta-adrenergic receptor antagonist) decreases the production of aqueous humor by the ciliary epithelium, also reducing IOP. - **Lytears** is an artificial tear solution used to lubricate and moisten the eyes, typically for relief from dry eye symptoms. The fixed combination of latanoprost and timolol is indicated for patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension who are insufficiently responsive to monotherapy. The addition of Lytears provides symptomatic relief from dryness or irritation that may be associated with chronic use of topical glaucoma medications. This triple combination addresses both elevated IOP and ocular surface discomfort[1][2][3][7].
