Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LB-LR1109 + atezolizumab is an investigational combination therapy being developed by LG Chem and its subsidiary AVEO Oncology for the treatment of advanced solid tumors, specifically non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). LB-LR1109 is a first-in-class monoclonal antibody targeting Leukocyte Immunoglobulin Like Receptor B-1 (LILRB1), an immune checkpoint protein that cancer cells use to inhibit the activity of T cells, natural killer (NK) cells, and macrophages. Atezolizumab is a well-established anti-PD-L1 monoclonal antibody. By combining these two agents, the therapy aims to overcome multiple mechanisms of immune evasion, potentially providing a more robust anti-cancer response than monotherapy. The combination is currently being evaluated in a Phase 1a/1b clinical trial (NCT06332755) focusing on safety, tolerability, and preliminary efficacy in patients with advanced or metastatic NSCLC.
