Lenalidomide + dexamethasone + PBSCT is a combination regimen used primarily for the treatment of multiple myeloma. Lenalidomide is an immunomodulatory agent that works by helping the bone marrow produce normal blood cells and killing abnormal cells in the bone marrow. Dexamethasone is a synthetic corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressant properties, often used to reduce inflammation and suppress immune responses. Peripheral blood stem cell transplantation (PBSCT), also known as autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplant (auto-HSCT), involves collecting a patient's own stem cells, administering high-dose chemotherapy (often including lenalidomide and dexamethasone), then reinfusing the collected stem cells to restore bone marrow function. This combination is standard in both induction therapy before transplant and as maintenance therapy after transplant for multiple myeloma[1][2][3][4][5][7].
