Overview

Lenalidomide + ixazomib is a combination of two oral small molecule drugs used primarily in the treatment of multiple myeloma, particularly in patients whose disease has relapsed or become refractory after prior therapies. Lenalidomide is an immunomodulatory agent that works by altering cytokine production, enhancing T cell and natural killer (NK) cell activity, and promoting the degradation of key transcription factors involved in malignant B-cell survival. Ixazomib is a proteasome inhibitor that disrupts protein degradation within cancer cells, leading to apoptosis. This combination is often administered with dexamethasone as part of standard regimens for relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma[1][2][3][4][5][6].
