Overview

This is a combination of three drugs: **lesinurad**, a selective uric acid reabsorption inhibitor used for treating hyperuricemia associated with gout, and **aluminum hydroxide** plus **magnesium hydroxide**, two antacids typically used together to relieve symptoms of heartburn, acid indigestion, and upset stomach. Lesinurad works by inhibiting renal reabsorption of uric acid through blockade of the uric acid transporter 1 (URAT1) and organic anion transporter 4 (OAT4), thereby lowering serum uric acid levels and increasing uric acid excretion in urine. Aluminum hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide act locally in the stomach by neutralizing gastric acid. While there is documentation of drug interaction studies between lesinurad and antacids, there is no evidence that a fixed-dose combination of all three agents (lesinurad + aluminum hydroxide + magnesium hydroxide) is a marketed pharmaceutical product; rather, these agents may be co-administered for specific clinical reasons or studied together to evaluate pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic interactions[1][2][3][7].
