Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination drug consisting of three active pharmaceutical ingredients: - **Levamisole** is an immunomodulatory and antihelminthic agent, historically used to treat parasitic worm infections and as an adjunct in some cancer therapies. It acts primarily by modulating the immune response. - **Budesonide** is a synthetic corticosteroid with potent anti-inflammatory properties, commonly used via inhalation for asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It works by reducing inflammation in the airways. - **Formoterol** is a long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA) bronchodilator that relaxes airway smooth muscle, leading to bronchodilation and improved airflow. There are no known approved or marketed products containing this exact triple combination. Budesonide plus formoterol is widely available as a fixed-dose inhaler for asthma and COPD under brand names such as Symbicort[1][5][6][7][8]. Levamisole has been used separately for other indications but not typically combined with these agents in clinical practice.
