Overview

Triple therapy with **levofloxacin + amoxicillin + lansoprazole** is used primarily for the eradication of *Helicobacter pylori* infection, particularly as a second-line treatment after failure of first-line regimens, often due to antibiotic resistance. Lansoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that reduces gastric acid secretion, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of antibiotics. Amoxicillin is a broad-spectrum beta-lactam antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, and levofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, disrupting DNA replication and repair. This combination is commonly used for resistant *H. pylori* infections, peptic ulcer disease associated with *H. pylori*, and may provide an alternative to regimens containing macrolides (e.g., clarithromycin) in areas with high resistance rates[1][5][7][8].
