Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a multi-component procedural drug kit containing the amide local anesthetics **lidocaine hydrochloride** and **bupivacaine hydrochloride**, the synthetic glucocorticoid **triamcinolone acetonide**, and the topical antiseptic **povidone-iodine**. Lidocaine and bupivacaine reversibly inhibit voltage-gated sodium channels, preventing action-potential propagation and producing local or regional anesthesia and analgesia. Triamcinolone acetonide activates glucocorticoid receptors to suppress inflammatory signaling, while povidone-iodine releases iodine with broad microbicidal activity for skin antisepsis. The exact four-component composition is publicly listed in DailyMed as the unapproved prescription kit products BLT-25 Kit and MLK F4 Kit, packaged by Asclemed USA; their labeling states that the products have not been found by FDA to be safe and effective and that the labeling has not been approved by FDA.
