The LinearDNA COVID-19 vaccine (feline) is a PCR-produced linear DNA vaccine developed by EvviVax in collaboration with Applied DNA Sciences and Takis Biotech. It is designed to prevent SARS-CoV-2 infection in domestic cats by encoding the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein. The vaccine aims to induce both neutralizing antibodies and cellular (T-cell) immunity. It is administered intramuscularly using gene electrotransfer and is provided in a lyophilized (freeze-dried) form. The primary goal of the vaccine is to prevent felines from acting as a viral reservoir for human transmission. Phase 1 clinical trials have demonstrated safety, tolerability, and the ability to generate neutralizing antibodies against multiple SARS-CoV-2 variants, including B.1.1.7, P.1, and B.1.526.
