Overview
Linzagolix (LY01021) is an orally active, non-peptide gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) receptor antagonist developed for the management of hormone-dependent conditions. It works by competitively binding to GnRH receptors in the pituitary gland, thereby inhibiting the secretion of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). This suppression of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis leads to a dose-dependent reduction in ovarian estradiol production, which is utilized to treat symptoms of uterine fibroids and endometriosis. Additionally, linzagolix is being investigated for use in controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH) to prevent premature LH surges in women undergoing assisted reproductive technology (ART). Luye Pharma holds the exclusive rights to develop and commercialize linzagolix in Mainland China through a licensing agreement with Kissei Pharmaceutical.
