LIPO-5 (043195)

LIPO-5 is an experimental HIV-1 therapeutic and prophylactic vaccine candidate developed by the ANRS (French National Agency for Research on AIDS and Viral Hepatitis). It consists of a mixture of five synthetic lipopeptides derived from the HIV-1 Gag, Pol, and Nef proteins, encompassing over 50 T-cell epitopes. The vaccine is designed to induce broad and potent HIV-specific cellular immune responses, particularly CD8+ and CD4+ T-cell responses. It has been evaluated in various Phase I and Phase II clinical trials, often as part of heterologous prime-boost regimens involving DNA vaccines (like GTU-MultiHIV B) or viral vectors (like ALVAC or MVA).
