Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of liposomal doxorubicin and paclitaxel. Liposomal doxorubicin is a formulation where doxorubicin is encapsulated in liposomes to help reduce cardiotoxicity while maintaining anticancer efficacy. Paclitaxel is a taxane that promotes microtubule assembly and stability, preventing cell division. This combination is primarily used in the treatment of metastatic breast cancer and has shown efficacy with relatively low rates of cardiac toxicity compared to conventional doxorubicin combinations.
