Liraglutide + dapagliflozin is a combination of two antidiabetic agents: **liraglutide**, a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist administered by subcutaneous injection, and **dapagliflozin**, a sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitor administered orally. This combination targets complementary pathogenic mechanisms in diabetes: liraglutide enhances glucose-dependent insulin secretion, inhibits glucagon release, slows gastric emptying, and reduces appetite via agonism at the GLP-1 receptor, while dapagliflozin lowers blood glucose through inhibition of SGLT2 in the proximal renal tubules, increasing urinary glucose excretion. The combination has been investigated for improved glycemic control, weight loss, and nephroprotective effects in type 2 diabetes mellitus and shows potential in preventing or delaying diabetic nephropathy. Both agents independently reduce cardiovascular risk and improve metabolic parameters in patients with diabetes[1][5][6].
