Overview

Lucidel is a fixed-dose combination pharmaceutical product containing lisinopril and indapamide, primarily indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension. Lisinopril is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor that lowers blood pressure by reducing the production of angiotensin II, a potent vasoconstrictor, and decreasing aldosterone secretion, which leads to decreased sodium and water retention. Indapamide is a thiazide-like diuretic that promotes diuresis by inhibiting the sodium-chloride symporter in the distal convoluted tubule of the kidney, thereby reducing plasma volume and peripheral vascular resistance. The combination of these two agents provides a synergistic antihypertensive effect, allowing for improved blood pressure control compared to monotherapy. It was developed by the Institute For Study Research Education And Therapy Of Vascular Heart Brain And Kidney Nosologies and is marketed in Russia and other CIS countries.
