lisinopril + losartan

Lisinopril + losartan is a hypothetical combination of two antihypertensive agents, each from a different class. Lisinopril is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor that lowers blood pressure by inhibiting the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, leading to vasodilation and reduced aldosterone secretion. Losartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that prevents angiotensin II from binding to its receptors on blood vessels, also resulting in vasodilation and decreased blood pressure. Both drugs act on the renin-angiotensin system but at different points in the pathway. While both are effective for hypertension and have overlapping indications, their combined use is not recommended due to increased risk of adverse effects such as hyperkalemia, hypotension, and renal impairment[4][5][6]. There are no approved fixed-dose combinations or marketed products containing both lisinopril and losartan together.
