Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Liu Wei Di Huang Wan is a classic Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula composed of six herbal ingredients: *Rehmannia glutinosa*, *Cornus officinalis*, *Dioscorea opposita*, *Alisma orientale*, *Poria cocos*, and *Paeonia suffruticosa*. It is traditionally used to nourish "Yin" and tonify the kidneys, addressing symptoms associated with Kidney Yin deficiency. In modern clinical research, it has been investigated for its effects on metabolic disorders, renal function, and potential interactions with Cytochrome P450 (CYP450) enzymes. The Institute of Clinical Pharmacology at Central South University has conducted Phase 1 studies to evaluate its impact on drug-metabolizing enzymes in healthy volunteers to assess the risk of herb-drug interactions.
