Overview
Liuwei Dihuang glycoside is a refined botanical extract derived from the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula Liuwei Dihuang, which traditionally consists of six medicinal herbs: *Rehmannia glutinosa*, *Cornus officinalis*, *Dioscorea opposita*, *Alisma orientale*, *Poria cocos*, and *Paeonia suffruticosa*. This specific formulation is enriched for the glycoside fraction of the parent formula and is delivered as an oral tablet. It is currently being investigated in clinical trials for the treatment of female menopausal syndrome, specifically for patients presenting with the TCM diagnosis of kidney yin deficiency. The therapeutic effect is typically evaluated using the modified Kupperman scale, comparing the glycoside tablets against the traditional Liuwei Dihuang pill and placebo.
