Overview

LM-101 is an injectable phospholipid-bound nanoparticle formulation of paclitaxel developed by LipoMedics. Described as a "Third Generation Abraxane," it utilizes a phospholipid-lysophospholipid platform to deliver paclitaxel, a microtubule stabilizer that binds to tubulin to inhibit cell division. The formulation is designed to retain the plasma dissolution characteristics of Abraxane while improving stability compared to second-generation formulations like Genexol-PM. It is being developed for the treatment of various solid tumors, including metastatic breast cancer, ovarian cancer, pancreatic cancer, and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
