losartan + nebivolol

Losartan + nebivolol is a combination of two antihypertensive agents used for the management of high blood pressure. Losartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that lowers blood pressure by blocking the vasoconstrictor and aldosterone-secreting effects of angiotensin II through selective antagonism at the AT1 receptor. Nebivolol is a third-generation, highly selective beta-1 adrenergic receptor antagonist (beta-blocker) with additional vasodilatory properties mediated by stimulation of endothelial nitric oxide synthase via beta-3 agonism, leading to increased nitric oxide release and improved vascular function. The combination targets different mechanisms in blood pressure regulation—renin-angiotensin system inhibition and sympathetic nervous system blockade with added vasodilation—potentially providing additive or synergistic antihypertensive effects[1][6]. Both drugs are approved individually for hypertension; however, while combinations with other ARBs (such as valsartan) have been FDA-approved in single-pill forms, there is no widely marketed fixed-dose combination product specifically for losartan + nebivolol[8].
