LP-001 (LongBio Pharma)

LP-001 is a long-acting recombinant human erythropoietin-Fc fusion protein developed by LongBio Pharma for anemia. It acts as an erythropoiesis-stimulating agent by agonizing the erythropoietin receptor, increasing erythroid progenitor survival and differentiation and thereby raising reticulocyte production, red blood cell counts, hematocrit, and hemoglobin. The Fc-fusion format is intended to extend systemic exposure versus conventional recombinant erythropoietin. A completed Phase I study in healthy Chinese adults reported dose-dependent pharmacodynamic increases in hematologic parameters and supported further development for myelodysplastic syndromes; LongBio also identifies chronic kidney disease anemia as a development indication.
