Overview

LT3001 + clopidogrel refers to the experimental combination of the novel thrombolytic/neuroprotective agent LT3001 and the established antiplatelet agent clopidogrel. LT3001 (also known as odatroltide) is a synthetic small molecule peptide with both thrombolytic and antioxidant activities. It restores blood flow in acute ischemic stroke by promoting endogenous fibrinolysis—enhancing the binding of plasminogen to fibrin—and reducing oxidative stress, thus potentially conferring clot dissolution with neuroprotection and a reduced risk of hemorrhagic complications[1][2][4][7]. Clopidogrel is an oral antiplatelet drug that inhibits platelet aggregation through irreversible blockade of the P2Y12 ADP receptor, reducing the risk of arterial thrombosis. This combination is under investigation mainly for acute ischemic stroke, with studies examining whether LT3001 can safely be used with established antiplatelet therapy to further improve outcomes beyond standard of care[3].
