Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This combination regimen refers to the conventional treatment control arm used in clinical trials for neurotrophic keratopathy, specifically the Phase I/II trial NCT03084861 conducted by Banc de Sang i Teixits. The regimen consists of Lubristil, a lubricant eye drop (artificial tears) containing sodium hyaluronate, and Air Optix Night & Day, a silicone hydrogel therapeutic contact lens. Lubristil acts as an ocular lubricant to stabilize the tear film and hydrate the ocular surface, while the Air Optix Night & Day lens serves as a physical bandage to protect the compromised corneal epithelium from mechanical trauma and promote re-epithelialization in patients with stage 2 or 3 neurotrophic keratopathy.
