Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LUNA18 + cetuximab is a combination therapy comprising **LUNA18**, an orally bioavailable, cyclic macrocyclic peptide pan-RAS inhibitor, and **cetuximab**, a monoclonal antibody targeting the epidermal growth factor receptor (**EGFR**). LUNA18 (also known as Paluratide) selectively targets and binds to Ras proteins, inhibiting Ras-dependent signaling pathways, thereby reducing proliferation of tumor cells with Ras overexpression or mutations. Cetuximab binds to the extracellular domain of EGFR and blocks ligand-induced activation, inhibiting downstream signaling involved in cancer cell proliferation and survival. The combination aims to provide enhanced efficacy in solid tumors, particularly those with Ras mutations, by dual inhibition of both Ras signaling and EGFR pathways. This combination is under clinical evaluation for advanced or refractory solid malignancies, including those not amenable to standard treatments[1][2][3][7].
