Overview

Lutetium-177Lu chloride is a therapeutic radioisotope solution, specifically the no-carrier-added (n.c.a.) form of the Lutetium-177 isotope. Developed by Chengdu New Radiomedicine Technology for the Chinese market, it serves as a precursor or raw material for the synthesis of radiopharmaceuticals used in targeted radionuclide therapy (TRT) and radioligand therapy (RLT). Lutetium-177 is a beta-emitting isotope with a half-life of approximately 6.7 days, which allows for the delivery of ionizing radiation to specific tumor cells when conjugated to targeting molecules like peptides or antibodies. The n.c.a. form is preferred for its high specific activity, which is crucial for labeling ligands with high affinity and low receptor density.
