Drug intelligence / Profile preview
lutikizumab + ABBV-295 is an investigational combination therapy being developed by AbbVie for the treatment of moderate to severe hidradenitis suppurativa (HS). The combination pairs lutikizumab (ABT-981), a dual-variable-domain immunoglobulin (DVD-Ig) that simultaneously targets and inhibits interleukin-1 alpha (IL-1α) and interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β), with ABBV-295 (GUB014295), a long-acting amylin analog originally discovered by Gubra. The therapeutic rationale is that obesity is a major risk factor and exacerbating factor in HS; thus, combining the anti-inflammatory effects of lutikizumab with the weight-reduction benefits of ABBV-295 may provide synergistic efficacy. AbbVie plans to evaluate this combination in an HS platform study starting in late 2026.
