Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Luvox CR + CT-STEPS is a combination therapy consisting of the pharmaceutical drug Luvox CR (fluvoxamine maleate extended-release) and a web-based cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) program known as CT-STEPS. Luvox CR is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) and sigma-1 receptor agonist developed by Jazz Pharmaceuticals, approved for the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and social anxiety disorder. CT-STEPS is a self-directed, computer-aided behavioral therapy system designed to provide exposure and response prevention (ERP) for patients with OCD. This combination was evaluated by the Rogers Center for Research & Training in a Phase 4 clinical trial (NCT00743834) to determine if the addition of web-based CBT enhances the efficacy and cost-effectiveness of Luvox CR monotherapy in adults with OCD.
