Overview

M40403 + aldesleukin is a **combination drug** consisting of M40403, a synthetic small molecule that mimics the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD), and aldesleukin, a recombinant human interleukin-2 (IL-2) cytokine. M40403 acts by scavenging superoxide radicals, thereby reducing oxidative stress and blocking the dose-limiting hypotension caused by high-dose IL-2 therapy. Aldesleukin stimulates T cell and natural killer (NK) cell proliferation and cytotoxic activity, primarily used to treat metastatic renal cell carcinoma and melanoma. The combination enables higher dosing of IL-2 by mitigating its severe cardiovascular side effects and synergistically enhances antitumor immunity through increased lymphokine-activated killer cell activity and inhibition of macrophage superoxide production[3][6][1][5].
