Overview
A combination therapy used in the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Macitentan is an endothelin receptor antagonist (ERA) that targets the endothelin pathway, while selexipag is a prostacyclin receptor agonist that targets the prostacyclin pathway. When used together, they work through complementary mechanisms to improve clinical outcomes in PAH patients. This combination is often used as part of triple oral combination therapy alongside a third medication targeting the nitric oxide pathway (such as riociguat or tadalafil).
