MAGE-3.A1 + NA17.A2 is a combination peptide-based therapeutic cancer vaccine developed by Cliniques universitaires Saint-Luc and the Université Catholique de Louvain. It consists of two synthetic peptides: MAGE-3.A1 (sequence: EVDPIGHLY), a cancer-testis antigen restricted to HLA-A1, and NA17.A2 (sequence: VLPDVFIRC), an antigen derived from N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase V restricted to HLA-A*0201. The vaccine is designed to stimulate a cytolytic T lymphocyte (CTL) response against melanoma cells expressing these specific tumor-associated antigens (TAAs). In clinical research, this vaccine has been evaluated in combination with GM-CT-01 (a galectin-3 inhibitor) to overcome tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) anergy in patients with advanced metastatic melanoma.
