Overview
Magnolol + honokiol is an experimental combination of two natural diallylbiphenolic compounds, magnolol and honokiol, primarily extracted from the bark of *Magnolia officinalis*. This synergistic combination is widely utilized in traditional medicine, dietary supplements, and advanced skincare formulations. In dermatology, the combination is developed by Dr Irena Eris as a patented biostructural complex (Sensi Magnolol-H) that targets TRPV1 and TRPV3 channels to alleviate micro-inflammatory reactions, reduce skin sensitivity, and counteract aging. In metabolic research, the combination has been shown to ameliorate high-fat-diet-induced hepatic steatosis by activating AMPK and inhibiting the LXRα-SREBP-1c lipogenic pathway. Additionally, both compounds act as positive allosteric modulators of GABA-A receptors, contributing to anxiolytic and sedative effects.
