Overview

**Magrolimab + avelumab** is a combination of two monoclonal antibodies developed for cancer immunotherapy. **Magrolimab** blocks cluster of differentiation 47 (CD47), a “don’t eat me” antiphagocytic signal on cancer cells, thereby enhancing phagocytosis and elimination of tumor cells by macrophages[8][9]. **Avelumab** is a fully human IgG1 antibody targeting programmed cell death ligand-1 (PD-L1) on tumor cells; it blocks PD-L1 interaction with PD-1 and B7.1 to relieve immunosuppression and re-activate T-cell responses, while also engaging natural killer cells to mediate antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC)[2][5][7]. The combination is explored in advanced solid tumors including ovarian cancer, with clinical trials focusing on safety, tolerability, and anti-tumor activity[4][8].
