Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Maixuekang + Maizhiling is a combination of two herbal medicines used primarily in cardiovascular and vascular conditions related to thrombosis and blood circulation disorders. - **Maixuekang** is an herbal medicine approved for treatment of thrombosis, cerebral infarction recovery, acute myocardial infarction, unstable angina pectoris, cerebral thrombosis, and other cardiovascular diseases. It acts by improving coagulation function and blood circulation. Clinical studies show it can prolong prothrombin time (PT), activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), thrombin time (TT), reduce fibrinogen levels, improve neurological deficit scores in cerebral infarction patients, and help with nephrotic syndrome complications such as hypertension and anemia. - **Maizhiling** is also an herbal medicine indicated for hemorrhoids, thrombophlebitis, varicose veins, deep vein thrombosis especially after spinal cord injury when combined with low molecular weight heparin calcium (LMWH-Ca). It improves blood circulation in the lower extremities reducing swelling and pain. Clinical evidence supports its efficacy combined with LMWH-Ca to enhance coagulation function improvement without increasing adverse effects. Together this combination targets thrombotic conditions by enhancing blood flow and modulating coagulation parameters through traditional Chinese medicine mechanisms.
