Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Mannan-conjugated allergoid (polymerized) Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus + Dermatophagoides farinae is a next-generation allergen immunotherapy (AIT) vaccine developed by Inmunotek. It consists of polymerized allergoids derived from the house dust mites *Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus* and *Dermatophagoides farinae*, which are chemically modified with glutaraldehyde to reduce IgE-mediated allergenicity while preserving immunogenicity. These allergoids are covalently conjugated to mannan, a yeast-derived polysaccharide that acts as a biological adjuvant by targeting the mannose receptor (CD206) on dendritic cells. This targeted delivery enhances allergen uptake and promotes a shift in the immune response from a pro-allergic Th2 profile toward a tolerant Th1 and regulatory T-cell (Treg) profile. The drug is administered parenterally and is intended to provide long-term relief for patients with allergic respiratory diseases.
