Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Maraviroc + atorvastatin** is an investigational combination therapy in development for the treatment of post-acute sequelae of COVID-19 (PASC, "long COVID"). Maraviroc is a small molecule antagonist of the CCR5 receptor, reducing immune cell trafficking and vascular inflammation, while atorvastatin is a small molecule inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase, with primary lipid-lowering effects and secondary anti-inflammatory properties. The combination aims to mitigate endothelial inflammation and improve neurocognitive and physical symptoms seen in long COVID by targeting immune dysregulation and vascular injury. Both drugs are FDA-approved for other indications but are being studied here as a novel fixed-dose or co-administered therapy for long COVID[1][3][4][5][6].
