Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MAS-1 adjuvant + influenza HA antigen is an investigational vaccine formulation combining MAS-1, a water-in-oil emulsion-based adjuvant/delivery system, with influenza hemagglutinin (HA) antigen. MAS-1 is characterized as a low viscosity, free-flowing emulsion comprised of stable nanoglobular aqueous droplets. This combination has demonstrated significant dose-sparing effects, allowing for reduced HA content while enhancing immunogenicity. Clinical trials have shown that MAS-1-adjuvanted influenza vaccines induce higher hemagglutination inhibition (HAI) antibody responses with prolonged durability (at least 6 months post-vaccination) compared to standard non-adjuvanted vaccines. The formulation also demonstrated enhanced cross-reactive antibodies against some non-study vaccine influenza viruses, suggesting broader protective immunity.
