**Masitinib + isoquercetin** is a combination therapy evaluated for the treatment of hospitalized adults with moderate and severe COVID-19. Masitinib is a small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor, primarily targeting c-Kit, with potent blocker activity against mast cells and macrophages—cells involved in the cytokine storm observed in severe COVID-19. It also inhibits coronavirus 3CL protease, thus blocking viral replication. Isoquercetin is a flavonoid derivative that inhibits protein disulfide isomerase (PDI), decreasing clot formation and D-Dimer levels, serving an antithrombotic function. This combination is being investigated to simultaneously mitigate inflammatory cytokine storm and associated thrombotic complications in COVID-19. Initial Phase 2 studies (NCT04622865) demonstrated improved clinical status in patients after 15 days of treatment[1][4][5][6][9][10].
