Overview

This designation refers to a specific immunization regimen evaluated in clinical trials, consisting of the concomitant administration of the hexavalent vaccine VAXELIS (V419) and a meningococcal serogroup C conjugate vaccine (MCC-CRM). VAXELIS, developed by MCM Vaccines B.V. (a joint venture between Merck and Sanofi), is a combination vaccine containing diphtheria and tetanus toxoids, acellular pertussis antigens, inactivated poliovirus, Haemophilus influenzae type b conjugate (PRP-OMPC), and recombinant hepatitis B surface antigen. The MCC-CRM component is a separate vaccine targeting Neisseria meningitidis serogroup C, using the CRM197 carrier protein. This co-administration approach is designed to simplify infant immunization schedules by providing protection against seven major pediatric pathogens in a single visit.
