Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This refers to the co-administration or combination of the Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) vaccine and the Yellow Fever vaccine, specifically those developed by the Serum Institute of India (SII). The MMR component (often branded as Tresivac) is a live attenuated vaccine containing the Edmonston-Zagreb measles strain, the L-Zagreb mumps strain, and the Wistar RA 27/3 rubella strain. The Yellow Fever component is a live attenuated vaccine derived from the 17D-204 strain. This combination is primarily used in pediatric immunization programs in endemic regions to protect against all four viral diseases simultaneously. Clinical studies have focused on the safety and immunogenicity of giving these two live vaccines at the same visit, ensuring that co-administration does not result in significant immune interference.
