The MMRV combination vaccine is a live attenuated vaccine candidate being developed by the Beijing Institute of Biological Products (BJBPI). It is designed to provide simultaneous immunization against four viral diseases: measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella (chickenpox). By combining these four components into a single injection, the vaccine aims to reduce the number of required clinical visits and improve vaccination compliance in pediatric populations. The vaccine utilizes live attenuated strains of the Measles morbillivirus, Mumps orthorubulavirus, Rubella virus, and Human alphaherpesvirus 3 (Varicella-zoster virus) to elicit a protective immune response. It is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
