Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a live attenuated quadrivalent combination vaccine (MMRV) currently in preclinical development by the Beijing Institute of Biological Products (BJIBP). It is designed to provide simultaneous immunization against measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella (chickenpox) in a single formulation. The vaccine contains weakened forms of the measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella-zoster viruses, which work by eliciting protective immune responses, including the production of neutralizing antibodies and the activation of cell-mediated immunity against all four viral pathogens. This combination approach aims to simplify childhood immunization schedules and improve coverage for these common viral diseases.
